well completions and productivity
Well Completion & Productivity
Cost-effective well completion and optimization is supported through the use of PEEK polymers.
VICTREX® PEEK™ polymers are capable of combining a number of properties to create a product that is
highly resistant to chemicals and more resistant to the effects of pressure-induced creep at elevated
temperatures. VICTREX PEEK polymers are used for support, creep resistance, and sealing elements
where pressures typically exceed 1035 bar at temperatures up to
230°C (446°F).
Seals, Back-up Rings, Plugs and Packers
Seals, back-up rings, plugs and packers are vital for safe and reliable management of high pressure and high temperature fluids, gasses and exotic media. From onshore to subsea operations, drilling and workover surface equipment to downhole tools, they are essential components in these performance-critical, diverse applications.
Whether acting as a stand alone element or as a component of multiple materials, high performance VICTREX PEEK polymers maintain mechanical stiffness while providing sufficient elongation to support dimensional stability. In addition, the polymer itself can be used as a direct sealing material.
Benefits of using VICTREX PEEK polymers can include:- Improved performance with chemical, corrosion and hydrolysis resistance, high strength, outstanding tribological properties, and resistance to rapid gas decompression
- Effectively seal throughout the oil production system for differential pressures up to 20,000 psi
- Simpler assembly because of ductility, where the seals are often scarf-cut to allow the ring to be opened and clipped around the fitting
Electrical Submersible Pumps
Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) technology is rapidly expanding and is utilized in nearly every operating region of the world. Where reservoir pressures are declining, subsea wells require reliable high horsepower systems and thermal operations need high temperature performance. Electrical submersible pumps meet this artificial lift challenge.
Technology development of electrical submersible pumps is centered on delivering superior equipment performance and system run life for:- High horsepower and high capacity systems
- High temperature systems for thermal recovery
- Motor winding slot liners for higher operating temperatures and horsepower loads
- Protector thrust bearings for increased running thrust loads and higher operating temperatures
- Motor wire coating for higher temperatures and moisture resistance
- Motor pothead for confident electrical connections at higher voltages and elevated temperatures
- Power cable insulation for higher temperatures and corrosive applications
